Yii Tan CHANG

Honorary Advisor

Yii Tan is the Managing Director of PE Research Sdn Bhd (1991-Present) and was the  Deputy Chief Technical Advisor to Economic Planning Unit of Malaysia (2004-2008). His specialisation is in economic consulting, social impact assessments, extensive network with public sector, NGO and CSO realm. He has conducted more than 200 consulting assignments across sectors, managed national, large scale surveys for topics of employment, wage, R&D, innovation and technology. 

His relevant project experiences include:

  • Solid Waste and Public Cleansing Masterplan for Selangor and two other states (Penang, Sarawak), including for a local authority

  • Study of HFC import, distribution and consumption in Malaysia as part of compliance with the Kigali Amendment (2019)

  • Economic Analysis of the proposed Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act for Malaysia (2018-2019)

  • Roadmap for Sustainable Development Goals in Malaysia (2018) and Terminal Evaluation of the Millennium Development Goals Malaysia (2015)

  • “Economics of Climate Change in Malaysia” study on mitigation (macro-economic analysis) and adaptation to climate change (water stress) (2011-12)

 

He also brings his experience in running registered societies from:

  • Forest Stewardship Council Malaysia, Standards Development Group, environmental chamber

  • Malaysian Evaluation Society, ex-President, and ex-Secretary

  • Environmental Protection Society Malaysia, ex-Vice President, life member

  • Malaysian Nature Society, ex-Conservation Committee, life member
